Yoga is commonly associated with stretching exercises, as if it were merely a form of stretching or some other flexibility practice. However, there are few who knows that this is an extremely effective system of working with the mind, and the increased range of movements in the joints is somehow a "side effect" of this practice. By practicing yoga, we learn to use our mind in a conscious way, exerting it with the desired effect on the body and shaping the constructive perception of the world. Of course, the effects of this work are also felt in the physical body, that to my mind experiences the sensation of ease and release. After some time, we also notice the change in the way we perceive reality, ourselves and the surrounding world.
Yoga effects on body level:
Yoga effects on the psychosomatic level:
Remember that these are just some of the beneficial yoga effects! Doesn’t it make you want to try this beautiful journey?
Give yourself a chance and open up to the change without expecting certain effects because what will happen to you will certainly exceed all your expectations.
But please do not limit your mindfulness to the duration of your yoga classes. What you learn during the practice can be applied in every situation. When you feel stressed or whenever you experience strong emotions, consciously work with your breath. Practice body awareness everywhere - at work or during relaxation, observe your habits and see if they are all beneficial for you. Listen to your body and follow the feeling of ease, though do not force it to act beyond its possibilities. Let your body and mind rest whenever it asks for it. Learn to listen to your inner voice.
Do not limit your practice only to the physical aspect as well, look carefully as through your body practice you open your consciousness. Look at all the changes that follow, use them for your development, accept everything that comes – challenge yourself. Discover the emotions that work within the body, resist the temptation to dump them and accept the emerging feelings and moods, even if they are very difficult. Only the light of consciousness is able to disperse the shadows that block your development, gratitude and self-love.
Observe your convictions; see, what limits you. Let yourself free to all mental patterns, without identifying yourself with any conscious choice except those that favor you. Listen to your intuition - as it is your inherent wisdom, that always perceives properly, but its voice is quiet and easy to drown out by the chatter of the mind. Learn to separate the directions of intuition from wishful thinking or fears.
Enjoy the process and take responsibility for everything that happens. Then - and only then - you have choice, or freedom. Then you have the right to use your power to shape reality.
